ONE 53 is 100 seats serving American/Euro Bistro cuisine in a relaxed atmosphere featuring a seasonally changing menu. ONE 53, which received flattering reviews from the NYT, Star Ledger, Trenton Times, Town Topics, NJ Monthly and more, combines local hospitality with a traditional and contemporary menu.

ONE 53 uses only the best and freshest seasonal ingredients, a commitment its owners have delivered on for years at Lucy’s Kitchen and Market, their nearby market. ONE 53 features wines from the US and Europe along with a full bar offering a variety of traditional and specialty hand-crafted cocktails.



Katie runs ONE 53. She came up through the ranks as server and is now our GM. Her hard work, experience and ability to make our guests comfortable is a pleasure to enjoy. Like our entire staff, she is genuinely gratified by our guests having a memorable dining experience at ONE 53. It’s not a learned trait, it comes from within. Come experience for yourself.



I got my start in the restaurant business while I was in college. It was then I realized the old adage was right, "Do what you love and you'll never work a day in your life." And I haven't. (I'm sure my co-workers would agree.) All kidding aside, I now realize it’s the people that kept me behind the bar. I’ve meet some wonderful people. As a bartender you witness many celebrations in people’s lives. I've been a part of weddings, birthdays and graduations. I can't think of a better way to spend my time. Working at ONE 53 has been one of the best jobs I've had in a long career. It’s a great spot. If you haven’t been, come to ONE 53 and experience what you're missing. If you have already, hurry back, I miss you!


Chef Rafael is no newcomer to ONE 53. He started in the kitchen at an early age and has been learning ever since. Now it’s his time to teach as Head Chef of ONE 53. We are lucky to have him at the helm.


I've been a server since I was 16 years old (yikes!!!). I started working at ONE 53 in August 2012. I enjoy the people I work with but most of all I have thoroughly enjoyed getting to know all of our regular guests. My menu favorites include short ribs, as a special, our ravioli, seasonally changing,...and of course the grilled pound cake "ice cream sandwich"!


I've been at ONE 53 since ’06 – opening day  wow, that went by fast! I've been in the restaurant world for over 35 years. I started as a dishwasher and worked on up to owning my own place. My favorite thing about ONE 53 is the changing seasonal additions to the menu. Currently, the short rib is my fav but when the rabbit loin is on the menu, it's amazing!” – GO METS!!

Jose "Rambo"

Jose “Rambo” del Cid has been a part of ONE 53 since 2008 and we are so grateful. Rambo is our expeditor “calling the pass”. Not every restaurant has this very integral position in their operation. The “pass” is the line between the back of the house, where our chefs make your food, and the front of the house, who serves and delivers your food. Rambo is to our kitchen what a conductor is to an orchestra. He makes sure that everyone keeps working together so that dishes are brought to the table simultaneously, hot and lookin’ good! 


I have known Caron and Joe since I was 16 and have worked at ONE 53 since 2008 (Can you believe it?!). During those years, I have learned many things about food and wine. One of my favorite dishes on the menu is our double cut pork chop -  but my weakness has to be all of our chocolate desserts. I love learning about wine and food!


Adrienne, or "Age" as we have so lovingly termed her, is a accomplished biathlete - cross-country skiing combined with rifle shooting - and a scratch golfer. She's also the retail  manager at Lucy's!! 


I started at ONE 53 in May of 2014, and it has been such a pleasure to be a part of the ONE 53 family. After all these years my favorite entree is still the Rossini burger, which is truly and experience...which you will not find anywhere else but ONE 53! My absolute favorite thing about ONE 53 is all of our regular customers, who I see at either here or at Lucy's Kitchen and Market. Getting to know them has been a true pleasure.


Willie is a familiar face to all our locals. He’s spent many years bartending locally and we are thrilled to have him on our team!


I have been in the restaurant industry for over 20 years. I like connecting with people and being able to provide them a pleasurable dining experience. I come from a big family – 7 siblings, 17 nieces & nephews, and a grand-nephew! Family is important to me, and I like to make the guests feel like family, as well. I'm an avid sports fan and love them all... except maybe for soccer ; )
